Angela Yee has nothing but well wishes for Jess Hilarious, who has officially filled her vacant position as co-host of The Breakfast Club.
The long-running morning radio show on New York City’s Power 105.1 announced on Monday (January 29) that starting on February 5, comedian Jessica “Jess Hilarious” Moore will be joining Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy as a permanent co-host.

Hilarious will fill the slot that Yee vacated in December 2022. She now holds down the afternoon slot on the station with her own show, Way Up With Angela Yee, and took a moment on a recent episode to congratulate Jess following the announcement.
“Today I think that we should shine a light on Jess Hilarious for joining The Breakfast Club,” she said in a clip shared to her show’s official page. “She’s got her own podcast, she’s a comedian, we know her from Wild’N Out, we know her from Jess With The Mess. She’s an actress as well. [We just saw a movie] and she was really funny in it. But congratulations to her. I know it’s not an easy job!”
Upon her departure from the morning show, Angela Yee told Variety that the moment had been coming for a “long time” and that there was no animosity between her and her co-hosts.
“To be clear, I knew this was coming for a long time, for months and months, like probably over six months before we announced it, so while it might have been kind of shocking and out of nowhere for some people, this is something that I knew was going to happen so it’s just a relief to not have to be all secretive about it,” Yee said at the time.

The road to Jess Hilarious joining the program has seemingly been a rocky one. She was a frequent guest host throughout 2023 and actually announced last month that she had been hired permanently.
However, in the weeks following her announcement, the radio station kept quiet and fans grew confused. Her soon-to-be co-hosts did as well.
Asked by TMZ about the host situation earlier this month, Charlamagne said: “I would really like to know. Everybody saw us rotating guest hosts last year and we said we were gonna start 2024 off with a new host and that hasn’t happened yet.”
The broadcaster also added that he was “not happy” with the situation and said there would be no more guest hosts. “I am done with the rotating of the guest hosts,” he stated.

Things grew even more confusing last week, when the popular comedian seemed to take shots at both Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy.
On Tuesday (January 23), she reshared a post by The Shade Room that featured the Breakfast Club hosts comparing SZA to Mary J. Blige. This clearly rubbed her the wrong way.

“These N-ggas trash,” she wrote. “Envy shut up! I know artists be pissed when old heads do this bc now everybody negatively comparing SZA to MJB and it ain’t even her fault! She has her own identity already [facepalm emoji].”
Days later, The Breakfast Club‘s original co-hosts were quizzed by Cam Newton about Jess Hilarious’ status as a potentially permanent co-host of The Breakfast Club — but fans are no closer to getting an answer.
